2007 Year In Review

Dec 31, 2007 11:47

- I kissed a girl on New Year's Eve who was a mother by December. I am not the father and I'm happy all of the things have turned out the way they have. In fact, I believe she met the father of her child that night.

Odd how things end up, no?

- 13 days later I was sucker-punched at a party, breaking my jaw. The next 6 weeks of drinking my food was an experience to say the least. The lawsuit is currently being handled by the chosen parties and things are looking like they could go either way based on what I've heard from the lawyer. A major thing going against them (despite the fact that their home owner's insurance doesn't cover assaults on their property) is the fact they waited until late September to report the incident to their insurance company. Hiding anything? Yeah... I think so.

I just want my medical bills paid back really. Oh yeah, and the name of the offending party. I'd like to return the favor to him. I don't have TMJ anymore. But my jaw does kind of click when I yawn.

- I finally got out of my job at the much vaunted Suburban Extended Stay Hotel after it was bought out by InTown Suites on July 18. Not one of my better jobs that I've ever had that's for sure. But it was certainly a big relief to finally unshackle myself from its tethers.

Especially since someone was murdered there 6 days later.

- I filed for unemployment while I was finishing up my time at FCCJ battling with a statistics class and earning my C (but a high C, nonetheless) after fighting back from some bad early test scores. It was the first time I'd ever filed for unemployment and more than likely the last. It took me months just to get one check that was worth practically nothing by the time I received it. Government. It was an experience though.

I finished up at FCCJ and I am planning on starting school again at the University of North Florida this summer. I'd like to go full time.

- I joined my first ever, real, band with all original songs. Our CD release party was last night. It was a lot of fun too. More people showed up than I thought too. I hope they liked us as well. I like us. We're likable.

- Some relationships ended.

- Some new ones began.

- I partied, more than I probably should have. But it was fun.

- I slept, not enough, but I did.

- I went to half of the Jaguars' games this season. I'm debating purchasing season tickets. One seat is $500. That is a DEAL.

- I've begun to combat my credit card debts.

ON THE SLATE FOR AUGHT EIGHT:

- Go to the Gator Bowl tomorrow. For free.

- Continue to combat my credit card debts. I'm making progress, it's time to further it.

- I'll need to look for job that still pays decent but is conducive to a full time college schedule. I really want to do full-time school so I can get these last two years done as quickly as possible.

Life must accelerate.

- Save more money.

- Rededicate myself to going running. I've been lifting weights a lot in the past few months and have actually increased my weight to 190. The results have been noticeable, which is good, but I feel the need to be in better shape overall.

- Drink less. geah will clap for me on this one.

- Don't you like how we're part of a new generation that can refer to these years as the "aughts"? Pretty darn nifty if you ask me.

- Learn more songs on guitar and bass. Get better at music all the time.

- Waste less time. Like this, except I'm at work and we have nothing to do. That will all change when half of the employees at Citigroup come back to work on January 2. They'll be in a definite rushed mood.

- Obtain employment in a field that will be similar to what I'd like to do for a career. I.E. - radio (or some kind of communications related field).

- Continue to spread the word about The Works!

- Vote for a new president.
