Donald Lucas only had to wait and soon the beginning of the job he had been paid for would officially start. He had no problem biding his time as he waited for the FBI to put in an appearance.
All he had to do was convince them that he was the serial killer Jack Of All Trades. He had been preparing for this moment for months. Lucas had read the file that had been given to him over and over again, memorizing every nuance in the language. He had even gotten extra information on serial killers from the library and the bookstore.
His false shrine for Dr. Samantha Waters had been finished just yesterday, with the final touch of a necklace she had once worn. The recording of “I’ll be Seeing you” was playing on repeat. And his Jack of Trades/other serial killer scrapbooks were on display in the front hall. He had made sure to add some clippings about other unsolved murders just for kicks.
Lucas’s employer had set up everything on the computer he would need, and the trail had already been planted. He poured himself a cup of cocoa from the pot he had just made, and sipped it calmly. A smile spreading on his face, as someone rang the doorbell, and he knew he didn’t have to wait any longer.
