I don’t know why but for some reason it seemed that my wife Samantha was having an affair. All the words that came out of her mouth lately seem to be about her book club friend Jack.
I don’t think it hurt that much, until she told me she was pregnant. It made me wonder if I was the father or if Jack was the father. Especially considering for the last year or so Samantha has been more cold than hot towards my advances.
The look on her face when she talked about Jack reminded me how she was when we first got married and she couldn’t keep her hands off of me. Back then there was a time we made a mark on every single room in the house more than once.
As Samantha gets farther and farther along, I still have my doubts about her. Her friend Jack got called away on some business and she seems so upset. And last week a dozen roses came with no card and also a package for the baby which contained a small stuffed lamb. I don’t know why I knew, but I knew the gifts are from Jack.
