Grace pulled her hair back, and closed a barrette around it. On the top of the barrette was painted a smiling full moon in a soft blue. She had picked it up last week when she had been taking a walk.

Grace had found this cute little boutique, and the barrette was sitting in the window. She had bought it, along with several other things like a cuckoo clock for her mother and a sea chest for her 2nd husband’s birthday.

A soft tap sounded on the bedroom door, and George let himself in. “You look beautiful, darling.” He went over to her, and kissed her on the top of the head.

She chuckled at him; she was just getting ready for a day of work at the Macon County morgue. No matter what she wore, he always commented how beautiful she looked; she could tell by the love in his eyes that he wasn’t just saying it though. “Thanks,” Grace found herself blushing like she always did. She wondered how she had managed to be so lucky to have such a wonderful life now.

George and Grace shared a kiss. “Breakfast is ready if you are hungry, dear.”

She smiled at him, as she touched his cheek. “Lead the way, babe.” She put the brush on the vanity in front of her.

He took her hand, and led her to the kitchen.
