Bailey stared out the plane window, watching the sun sink below the clouds. He couldn’t remember ever actually noticing it from this height.
Usually, he barely looked out the window. His mind was on other things, like case files past, or present. Right now for the first time in a long time, he had just allowed himself to push all thoughts of work from his mind. He was just concentrating on this moment.
The view outside was gorgeous. The sky was filled with a million shades of pink and orange painted under the clouds, and above the quiet darkness of space. He was able to sit marveling at nature’s wonder for several minutes, until he heard the noise of the on air fax machine drawing his attention back to work.
