I bought a twenty to thirty dollar puppet several months ago, and it's gone missing this week. It's a green monster from 'Leonardo the Terrible Monster'. If anyone somehow magically sees him around, please let me know. I wouldn't be surprised if he's hiding somewhere in my room (I once lost a student for three months underneath some file folders and loose sheets of paper on my table. Luckily the parents were very understanding. They once accidentally put him in with the pots and pans), but I would be terribly sad if he's gone missing permanently.
I would say 'Have a great Easter', but I daresay this will be seen after the fact.
So - Hope you all had a great Easter!

And, a week later, the following e-mail:
Hooray! Leonardo has been found! That would be my puppet. I didn't loose a student. Today. Named Leonardo, anyway.
Really, I don't know why I didn't look there, first. If a puppet were to be misplaced anywhere, naturally one would assume to look in the play refrigerator in housekeeping. Right next to the canned ham and pickled pigs' feet. Poor guy probably wished he had a parka, though.
The only down side is that he was found in the middle of our writing workshop, which meant in the middle of making our "Wanted: lost puppet" signs. "Errr, change of assignment, guys. We're going to, um, make, ahh, 'Found puppet' signs?" Perfect. Just according to plan.
I, and my students (but probably more me), are very glad he's back.
Thanks for all the rapt attention and organized searces and dog hunts that I'm sure were going on. I won't even name which teachers were accusing each other. Shame on you.
