Make the dumb stop!  Please, please, please, please, please, etc. and a few more times for good measure!

I hate meetings.  Especially in this office.  Nowhere have I been in meetings that turn into such a huge clusterfuck as in this office.  You say one word wrong, you get a 30 minute discussion about how that word is not what you said it was and the definition should be this but it's not RAAAAR!
All I want...

...is to get the new database...

deeeesiiiiiiiiiigned.  For them!  All for them!  Look, it's all pretty, and happy, and magical, and it makes our lives Pretty and Happy and Magical!

Every single database meeting, people argue.  They argue and argue and freak out because Paula is telling us how she is going to build things.  But she is telling us all the stuff in the background.  She is not giving us the pretty picture that we will actually see.  She shows us the cogs and the wheels and the gears.  They do not understand this.  They do not understand this, even when we tell them.  So I have to stop all the arguing over Things That Are Dumb before it gets too far out of hand, and then Paula gets all discouraged, and then I get frustrated.

STOP IT!!!!  ;_;  I just want to get this done!  You people are making my life miserable!  Why why WHY is it so hard for you to understand?  I have explained this!  Many times!  But because things sound complicated it must be much harder than that and you must be wrong!  *gasp!*

I have mixed feelings about moving.  I mean, I'm glad I'm gonna get out of this.  But I'm really worried about what's going to happen to this office and this project in particular when I do.
.

On a lighter note, I am seeing many different animals when I'm out on the trails.

Some regulars are a mother deer and her twin fawns.  They look like they were only born this spring.  She shows up on the trail about 6:00 p.m.  It's funny, because she's obviously lived there a long time and doesn't even look at the runners/walkers, etc.  She wanders nonchalantly across the trail, and then her two babies follow her with varying levels of OMGFreakedOut!

One day I saw a little five-point buck.

Another day, I saw a GIANT TURTLE!  It was awesome!  His shell was seriously like a foot across.  Since it's starting to get cold, he was chilling at the side of the trail and all too cold to do much.  So he just kind of eyed me when I dragged Kevin back half a mile to show him the GIANT TURTLE!  It was an Eastern Spiny Softshell turtle (scroll down) and was an ugly motherfucker.  I'd never seen one that big before.  The biggest I'd ever seen was a baby that was about the size of my palm, which had bitten a small child at the lake one day.

I saw a garter snake yesterday.  He slithered away from me off onto the side of the trail really fast.  That was probably the last warm day he was gonna get this year.

It kind of reminded me of the time I was walking on another trail with Kevin.  We found a little green snake and he was sooooooo cold (it was early spring and still chilly) and he was sooooooo mad that I was picking him up!  He wanted to bite me so hard, but he was too cold to move fast enough to do it.  It made me laugh.  I picked him up, exclaimed about how cute he was for a while, and then put him back off to the side where he wouldn't get stepped on.  I bet he spent a long time being angry at me.

I also saw a little crawdad one day.  It had rained a lot, and he'd wandered onto the trail.  I stepped carefully over him and he brandished his itty bitty pinchers ferociously to show me just how dangerous and tough he was and how I better not mess with him!!!!  It was cute!  ^_^
