ALRIGHTY.
Odds are if you've talked to me in the last week, you totally saw this coming. I don't get hooked on things and NOT pimp them to my entire LJ.
Now for this, you get to blame a combination of RL and LJ. I made a RL friend who friended my LJ, got hooked the steampunk music I was obsessing over and in turn rec'd me this. Twisty turny? Yes. Worth it? Holy SHIT, yes.
So I'm hooked on a new anime and am investigating the fandom and basically it's just one of the PRETTIEST things I've watched, oh, EVER, and as of right now the only person who I can rant and rave about it to is Joe.
Hello my fellow fangirls, you are FAILING me. There are somethings you can't go *___* at to a BOY, nonetheless one you see frequently IRL. It just doesn't work that way.
The anime is LAST EXILE and it is seriously one of the prettiest animes ever with a great storyline and awesome characters that are refreshingly realistic [no breasts that defy gravity!] I just ADORED it from beginning to end and seriously. SERIOUSLY. I have to share that.
So I whipped out my handy-dandy torrent finder and downloaded the whole 26-episode series in one pop, but I can make this so much easier for you.

Now, a few things about why you should watch this show:
This is the first picture I found online of the show. And here we have our three main characters. You start out with Lavie and Claus (the older two) who are vanship pilots. They basically carry messages across the country in their little two-person air-ship. Messages have different danger ratings, denoted by stars. Alvis, the little adorable girl, is the cargo of another pilot's seven-star mission that Claus and Lavie get saddled with. Simple, yes, but amazingly executed and just the lead in to an amazing storyline.
Yes, it's steampunk. It's delightfully the visual of the victorian era with a aviation twist. Plus the Guild. The Guild, let me tell you, is weird.
That's Delphine and Cicada and other random Guild people. Just LOOK at them. Weird. But they're basically in control of EVERYTHING.
But Dio's a complete spazzoid. And HOSHIT it moves.
Okay. Enough of that. I think. BASICALLY, it's about the most kickass thing ever and I have provided you with SUPER USEFUL LINKS so.
