Personality: First impression of Winry is often a cute, cheerful and charming girl. She's very sweet and friendly to everyone at first - this includes the bad guys too because they don't seem/feel like villains to her. This might be because she grew up in Resembool and life there has been peaceful. She's a good girl from a rural town who was raised to be a polite young woman and she really wants to be that kind of good girl, so her parents could be as proud of her as she is of them. Winry seems to charm everyone around her in just little time with her kindhearted personality and genuine smile. Ed seems to be the only one who always has something bad ("Mech freak!". "Crazy gearhead!" "Do you think you look sexy with those..." etc.) to say to her, everyone else always say positive things. She always tries to have some personal time for everyone and it's one of the reasons for why her customers like her very much. She really shows that she cares and worries about their safety, it makes her special in Rush Valley.
If you happen to see Winry in Ed's company (either live or on the journals), you will probably see her fierce temper. They're not always fighting. They just fight often and they fight about little things too, like an old married couple. Even Ed's scared whenever he knows that Winry will be mad because he did something stupid again, so she's very scary when someone enrages her. Usually this side shows because Ed broke her automail again even though he's supposed to keep them in perfect condition. You may want to avoid bad manners such as stealing and walking into a girl's room in her company too. Everytime Ed breaks her automail, she becomes even more enraged than last time. (Wasn't any of those previous times enough already?!) But Winry is also very strong-willed, especially about being Edward's mechanic until he'll get his real limbs back. It takes an extremely strong will to stay as his mechanic, when the boy is so reckless and needs repairs often. but she's never thought about giving up. In fact she just realized that she has always loved him. Now she's just thinking why she fell in love with that weirdo. Her rage always last for a moment, then she calms down and everything's normal again.
Winry is a mechanics obsessed girl and automails are her real passion. While other girls love to look pretty, smell sweet and spend their days doing girly stuff, Winry can spend nights and days working on automails and she really loves everything in it. The smell of oil, the creaking of artifical muscles, the whirring of bearings... She could go on about it all day if she wasn't a very busy engineer. Whenever she sees a cool machine, she goes into a mech otaku mode and it takes a while before she's normal again. Winry really wants to be the number one automail engineer and she works extremely hard for this goal. She's always willing to learn everything what people around her can teach about (new) mechanic stuff.
Although she lost her parents in a war, she has had a happy life and she likes having that happy life too. Winry has often cried for those people who don't cry when their world is falling down. Ed doesn't cry, Al can't cry - so she has cried for them. Nowadays she really tries to keep her sadness away and she just promised to Ed that the next time she cries, it's happy tears. Winry is also a very caring person with great empathy skills. She'll be there if you want to tell your worries. She has become much like a big sister to some people [Al, Elicia]. Also, she hates waiting. It's scary to just wait for the brothers to return and she's frustrated to be the one who always has to wait. She has her moments when she just jumps into action. And she's a good actress when acting skills are needed, she's even able to fool a dangerous man. She can be a little devilish sometimes too but it's all for good purposes (such as getting what she wants) only.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ She's an excellent mechanic and it's not limited to automails only, but automails are her real passion.
+ Strong-willed, you'll be surprised if you think she'll just give up~!
+ Empathy skills are also high, she's even used to cry for people who never cry.
+ Cheerful, she always has a smile for everyone.
+ She has some medical knowledge too as she basically spent her childhood reading books from her parents' bookshelf. Her parents were doctors. Winry has even saved Ed's life with her granny and helped a woman to deliver a baby with the help of her friends. She'd even help an enemy if the enemy was hurt.
+ She becomes physically stronger when she gets angry~.
- She's always worried about Ed, who doesn't make it any easier with his reckless personality making Winry worry about him even more. And she worries about other people too. It doesn't make life easy and it makes her go to her own worlds often.
- Her relationships can be used against her, it is even canon that some people do this later in canon.
- She's too kind and people use this side of her for their advantage too: Mister Kimblee and King Bradley are suspicious men? What are you talking about, Ed?! They were nice to her.
- It's rare for Winry to show her sad side in front of people. Elrics make an exception to this sometimes. So while she's sad about losing her parents, yes it still bothers her extremely much, she doesn't allow her sadness to show. She likes to live happily~. Talking about family might upset her.
- And her biggest fear is definitely losing Ed and Al. The brothers don't make it any easier for her because well, Ed joined the military and Al's there with him so yes, Winry is very scared for them sometimes.
- Stealing from anyone and injuring anyone are also things that she can't do (hitting people with her wrench when they enrage her doesn't count to the word injuring~).

I think I'm a little lost. Does anyone happen to know how I can get back to the place where I came from? I was in a train back to work and then I woke up here. And I really should go back to work as soon as possible, quite many people are waiting for me there.
[She gives a small nervous laugh. The whole Rush Valley, or most of them, was waiting for her return. Winry really didn't want to disappoint them after hearing everyone saying something to her on the phone.
Was she kidnapped? Oh, she didn't want to think about it.]
And even though I just repaired his automail, I'm sure it won't take long from Ed to need my help with his automail again.

What? Winry blinked her eyes in the room. Wasn't she supposed to be in the train to Rush Valley? Maybe she fell asleep on the train... But how did she wake up here? Maybe someone had seen her sleeping in the train and carried her away in the right station. She sat up and kicked something with her foot. Hmm? What was that backpack? Speaking of them, she couldn't find her real backpack anywhere in this room. The girl swallowed and looked around once more. No, it wasn't anywhere in this room. Well, this didn't feel nice at all. All of her tools were there! Ah, but maybe they were in that backpack now?!
No, nothing there either even though Winry turned it around and checked everything to be sure... The book inside it was stupid. Taking rare pokemon?! She didn't care whatever pokemon and Team Rocket were, but just taking them from something or someone in the name of some Team Rocket was always wrong. It was stealing! Winry did not steal anything from anyone. What kind of joke was this?!
And what were those things on the desk? She walked there to get a better look. Bhuh? A ball with a button? Not very impressive. But if there was a button, she was supposed to press the said button, right? Yes, she answered to herself and clicked it. Eeeeee, what happened?! Why did that light come from the ball?! It wasn't about to explode, was it? Should she hide? This was very confusing.
Magnemite was looking around the room and Winry blinked her eyes. What was that? ...Oh, never mind what it was... It looked.... WONDERFUL! The girl made a little scream of joy and her eyes started shining like stars. "Perfect circular metal body, two Philips head screws for whatever reason, horse shoe magnets, I can almost smell the oil from the workshop where they make wonderful things like you~!"
Her hand went closer, eyes still as shiny and ecstatic as ever, and she tried to touch it but the Magnemite was not impressed. Winry got a little eletric shock instead of a nice touch of metal surface. She took a step back, switched mood to something between confused and annoyed and gave a glare to the pokemon. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" She had clearly spent too many childhoor years with Ed considering all her temper. Though who'd like it if a stranger goes crazy in front of you and then instantly tries to touch you? She looks a bit annoyed still, but now there's some shame in her look too. "Well, sorry about that..." Winry sighed. This didn't start well. Ah but she wasn't going to stay here for long anyway.
Though she did want to find out more about that thing and in order to do that, she should become friends with it first. What was behind the screws? Oh, it even had an antenna! Great, now it reminded her of Ed. But Winry decided to change tactic here. She smiled like an angel. "Do you have a name?" No reply. "Then, how about if I name you... Fullmetal?" Magnemite seemed to like either the name or her, or maybe both? Winry felt like hitting her hand to her face. Why did she choose Ed's military name?!
