The Matches going on a break?
The Troubadour is promoting their show in August as their "final So-Cal show". And in the venue's newsletter on 6/24, they wrote:
I have found out that the reason this will be their final So Cal show is because of various reasons, actually. According to their blog on their MySpace, the band members are not breaking up but looking for a new record deal and in the meantime will be putting their focus toward their side projects--Jonathan Devoto has started a solo acoustic which he will base in NorCal and frontman Shawn Harris is spending time to write material for a new unnamed side project with the singer Jake Grigg from Something With Numbers, in Australia. So you better better catch this one last So Cal show so you can get your fill for at least the rest of the year!
Anyone know anything about this? Does this mean no new album for awhile?
