This morning when I woke up I could just feel that tiny tinge in the air, it might be the smell or the light breeze, that tells you fall is coming. Oh today is gorgeous! The weather is absolutely perfect, it's sunny, not humid and there's a gentle breeze. Perfect picnicing weather. I went online to check to see if any exam scores were posted and BAM there's an 83/100 for organic. Not too bad, a heck of a whole lot better than ANY of my scores in gen chem 1 and 2. So I was pretty excited. I go to organic class find out the average is a 70, so I think HEY not too shabby. Go team! Right so since I've been sick I have a coughing fit. You know the kind that basically has you cough up your lungs searching for some saliva or anything to make that tickle go away. It can't be complete unless there are a group of ppl asking you if you're alright and offering to help. Of course you would TRY to answer them if you could manage to accumulate the appropriate amount of saliva but alas you can't. SO you run out the classroom hacking loudly w/ a red face and search for a water fountain. Good times. For my second class I took a pit stop to Einsteins and got a coffee- hazelnut and vanilla- with skim milk and splenda- simply divine!
Then I met up w/ the Florida Swing Dance Team at Turlington and had a "Lindy Bombing" ie Lindy dancing for 2 hours in attempts to get more ppl to come out and learn how to dance. I had a really great tactic I would wait until a guy would look me in the eyes then I would reach out my hand and ask, "Dance with me?" They would say, I would love to BUT I've gotta go to class or whatever and I would say, "Dance with me sometime?" and give them a flier. It worked! YAY! It's funny cuz the guys will show up tonight and I'll be in my dorm just chillin' out. Hey there were a few really cute guys with amazing smiles. I hope that they show up sometime and actually attempt to learn how to dance. Greg said something along the lines of, yeah they'll come out but how many of them are going to dance and just want to sleep with you?! I would like to assume that they all want to dance with me.
So here's the part of my day where I met a crazie.
After this I head to see my favorite Organic TA, Maria so that we can go over the exam and the notes that I missed out on during my coughing fit... And there's a girl in there who is highly upset that she received a 78% on the exam. Not only is upset but she's developing an attitude and becuase of this doesn't want to get it through her thick skull that she was WRONG! Plain and simple. I tried to tell her that even though her thoughts may have been correct that they way she responded to the question was NOT! She would try to explain why a certain organic compound had a higher boiling point or whatever and assume that the reader knew she was comparing it the other for 1/2 a reason. So basically she would state in her first sentence that the 2 differing and in another sentence the properties of one. Her third sentence stated that the other compound obviously was higher/ lower/ whatever.. I wanted to say, "NO, you're dumb"! but alas I was strong and I did not. In an essay-ish exam the main point is to show the grader that you fully understand the concept and whenever making a comparison to directly state what the two items are that are being compared and why! Grr.
So then she cried and said that she would NEVER get a good grade on the exam and that she won't get into vet school, which is harder to get into than medical school and dental school yada yada yada.. blah blah blah was basically all I heard after the crying began. She was a) a bitch b) thought the she deserved an A for all her efforts in studying (c) wants the professor to re-grade her exam (which is really idiotic since the professor will def. FIND all errors resulting in a lower score(d) wasted 45 F**ing minutes of the one hour office hour...
Ok done venting. Just now I was wandering in the area between Thomas and Fletcher where today is the 100th b-day of one of the dorms AND AND AND :) eeee there's a bouncy pen set up.. ie the things that was all blown up and you could go inside and bounce into the inflated walls and run into other little kids. YUP, all set up for the big kids. After bouncing for 10 mins I was peacing out and way exhausted.
So tonight instead of going to swing dancing I'm going to chill out in my dorm hopefully get some work done ie write my something for bio lab or look over new organic stuff or actually read my arch book.. but the last one really won't happen.
