The back of the check just has to have the signature "Marshall Clark" and then another signature "Michelle Clark". Once you have both of those, then you can do what you want with them. Whoever actually goes to the bank and CASHES the checks, their ID has to match the signature on the back. So you can cash the checks but Michelle can't until she gets her new driver's license.

For example, if you mail me the checks with both your signatures on them, then I just have to sign the back and then deposit it in my bank account. Or to give you a real life example, my sister in law sent a check made out to Son1. I wasn't about to have him sign the back of the check (for one thing his "signature" is WAY to big for that little box). So I signed the back with "SON1" and then countersigned with "Wumbawoman" and then I went to the bank and deposited the check.

Of course once you go to the bank you then have to follow their rules as far as when the money is available. I suggest just depositing them and don't count on the money being available until 3 weeks.
