Man, EyeSpy is really riding Michelle. I think she said her availability was 3 every 30 days, we've been to 5 in the past 3 weeks, and we keep getting scheduled for more. We had a bar eval last Saturday, dinner on Tuesday and Thursday, and we have ANOTHER bar eval at the same place we went to on Saturday scheduled for this Sunday. Next week we have dinner in Los Gatos on Wednesday, and again in San Mateo on Saturday. I really like EyeSpy 'cause it gets us out of the house and going to places we might not normally have tried (except for Armadillo Willy's, we've been there once before, and have already been there twice with EyeSpy), but it's starting to take a toll on my waistline. Portions are huge at some of these places, and if they're like the place we went to on Tuesday, they make you order an appetizer, a salad, an entree, AND a dessert. So much food! I managed to restrain myself and didn't finish anything except for the salad (even though the white chocolate gelatto with strawberries and crumbled biscotti was delicious!). I think as a birthday gift for myself, I'm gonna sign up with the 24 hour fitness that's near my house. I like running as a workout, but I really want to start lifting weights again. Bulking up isn't my goal, but I'd like to be a little stronger, you know? Make sure some of this meat on my bones is useful!
We swung by Dolphin today, again. We had planned to pick up a half-dozen tetra to finish off our tank, but a few posts in
thequestionclub regarding fish tanks got me worried. Supposedly the rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon of water in the tank. Now, I think that's a little ridiculous, 'cause that would mean that our danios would be the only fish in our tank. Fuck that noise. Even so, I got a little worried that some of the daintier tetras would find it a little crowded for their liking. And since I found ANOTHER one of my cats stuck behind the bubble stone this week, I didn't want to chance it with that many new fish. We DID, however, find some gorgeous male guppies, and picked up a pair of them. I wish my camera wasn't out of batteries, 'cause these are some very photogenic fish. Michelle's choice has a beautiful yellow tail with black flecks which make it look like it has a butterfly strapped to its butt. My choice has a slightly smaller tail, but is pitch black starting from its midsection. It looks like it was dipped in darkness. SO cool! I'll put some pictures up tomorrow if they're being haved.
Current Tank:
6 Long-Finned Blue Danios
4 Guppies (2 Moscow, 2 unknown)
3 Spotted Cory Catfish
1 Bristle-Nosed Plecostomus
In nerd news, I'm not sure I mentioned that Michelle and I both hit 70 last weekend. We picked up our flying mounts immediately (SO much fun!) and started to work getting keyed for the first raid dungeon. We didn't do it quickly enough, though, so our guild had to reschedule a raid that was originally tomorrow, 'cause we don't have enough people to fill out the roster. Oh well. Allows us to take our time doing this.
Work is kind of in a state of flux right now. I'm still kind of wrapping up my last project, and kind of starting work on my next project. This new project is kind of a mess. We're taking code for an existing Japanese game and setting it up so it can run on American handsets. The problem I've noticed with Japanese code is that there are almost NO comments. When I wrote Snoopy, I had massive blocks of comments, comments before every if statement, between all the cases in a switch statement, at the head of new methods, describing data layout in multi-dimensional arrays, everywhere! This code barely has 5 word comments at the beginning of every method, and most of THOSE comments are basically a re-arrangement of the method name. Feh. I'm getting the hang of the code, little by little. It seems to be VERY compact, so I don't want to change too much just to get it to look like code I'm familiar with. But I gotta do SOMETHING so that we don't go crazy when trying to port.
