"Ew. then I'd have to sit by Alexis, wouldn't I?" I snigger, like Cassie a moron and can't understand this possible doom, "Anyway. You get to be in an Aurelio-Caden sandwich!"
Aurelio tears Caden's attention away from me, something I am used to. I look cautiously to Ethan and he gives me the smallest of smiles. I direct my gaze to Ryan, who is still standing awkwardly.
Awkwardly, I try to smile at Ryan while silently wishing for some form of conversation to divert the attention from the overall uncomfortable nature of the situation.
"How's it going, Ryan?" I want to take his attention away from the fact that my brother is practically flirting with his girlfriend, or at least let him know that I realize he's pissed about it.
"Hey," I say to him, slowly.

"Don't worry about it, Cass," I finally say, shortly. "I'll just sit next to Caden."
And I take up the seat between him and Alexis, smiling in a stiff and rictus way at both of them.
