Batman Begins!

What's that smell?..........it's the smell of sweet sweet redemption. The series has been saved.

If you are a fan of Batman in any way I'm going to heavily recommend you see the movie. I'm gonna have to see this again tomorrow. Yep. Definitely.

No cheesy script.

No cartoonish neon city.

No cartoonish villian portrayals.

It was everything the last two were not, and that is a good thing.

Seeing Bruce Wayne start out training, overcoming his childhood fears that plagued him throughout early life, and then getting started as Batman was pretty freakin sweet. Bale did a solid job of playing the lead role. Very believable I thought. He's still a little raw with emotions from his parents death and for the most part not as calm and collected as he's portrayed in the later Batman movies, which works out great and makes perfect sense. Seeing the genesis of some of the main characters we have all grown to know in the series, like Gordon and Lucious Fox(works at Wayne Enterprises) was really cool as well. The relationship between Alfred and Bruce is played out perfectly in this movie. Some nice touches of comedy injected just at the right moments. A much more "personal" Batman story, as we learn a lot about Bruce, and his vulnerabilities. They show Bruce with bruises the next morning after a long fight, for example. Good stuff.

Plot is important right? Well this movie actually has one, and a dang good one to boot. I won't spoil much else, you'll see.

From my understanding they are already planning on making 2 more for this series. Happy Days.

This movie is the perfect median between Burton's dark, artsy, gothic Batman, and Schumockery's neon cartoonish bludgeoning depiction. Director Christopher Nolan makes you believe Batman could indeed exist in modern day times, which is pretty impressive in my opinion.

Screw Star Wars, go see Batman Begins.
