i'm in datyona for a couple of weeks to start my job and get away from things. being here is not particularly thrilling, because i have to share space with parents. i will be so ready to dance around naked when i get back to lakeland. i'm also weary of getting into a job that involves entertaining. i'm not the bubbliest of personalities these days and it's a hard thing for me to feign happiness. still, kids brighten me up and teaching has been known to pull me out of some pretty rought spots in the past.
so far i've been poked by needles enough for my taste. it's a shot in the dark and this is my last bullet left. way to go gun analogies! here's another one. i'm an alcoholic and john's a bar. i'm trying to kick the habit at a bar. i'm so smart. i really really hope i'm on target.
next order of business is buying a new body. one that doesn't love him with every fiber of my being. this ache is unbearable.

i couldn't find a updated article on this story, but congo the chimp's "paintings" sold for more than $25,000. they hung along side a renoir and warhol...which didn't sell. huh. i have mixed feelings about this. on one end it equates the importance and intellect of abstract art to that of a chimp (granted they are extremely smart animals). yet, it may say something about how the eye views order and symmetry, surpassing just human understanding, but mammals as well. oh, i don't know. thoughts?
