He's so agreeable in fact, that when Men decided to catch him, as he saw none of Tai's current attacks could inflict damage and thought that would be useful, Shun allowed himself to be captured without fuss. He still has a curious nature and can seem a little dim or slow sometimes but really he's just happy to follow the crowd and be part of the group.

Before its evolution, while Men was training by the waterside, it followed him until he made to leave and then it splashed out of the water to keep following. Unnoticed, he flailed after Men all the way back to Violet, and there was no way Men was carrying it back. Maybe it was just looking for a buddy? Or maybe it really is just stupid? In any case, Men has no choice but to train it up and the once useless fish is now his teams powerhouse. Yeh, he wasn't expecting that. It evolved in order to save Men from being kidnapped by his new Drifloon. As payback for Hana naming a girly looking Pokemon after Men, Men has named this originally useless Pokemon after Hana. Despite its scary looking demeanor, Hana is a very friendly and happy Pokémon.

Her love for Men borders somewhere between a loving little sister view and a full blown crush.

Poppo was originally Ren's Pokémon, but after he vanished, Poppo sought out Men. Men and Poppo now share a strange relationship. Men still sees Poppo as his fathers Pokémon and as so refuses to recapture it. Since Poppo did belong to Ren, Men sees him as a very strong Pokémon and relies on Poppo for many fights, however, not wanting to hurt his fathers Pokémon, he won't send Poppo out into battles he deems too dangerous. Poppo himself has tried to make up for Ren's absence by becoming a father-like figure to Men. He's not overly protective, but watches out for the young boy. As Men hasn't captured Poppo, he cannot use the bird Pokémon in offical matches such as those against Gym Leaders.
