"The Downfall"
Through wind and rain the shadows crept on,
The judging, unkind eyes multiplied
The darkness envisioned the future, and staring blankly
into the endless pit which embodied her hope,
she trudged through broken dreams, swampy tears,
melting hearts, stinging fears,
fateful cries, deafening screams,
And back again through broken dreams
The night was not friendly but she demanded it hold her hand
The pain cut her body and the gashes
filled with sorrow
Upon hitting the earth, the blood turned cool and solid
with a liquid counterface
It snuck past her ambitions and denied her entrance
to a life with meaning
Alas, she would not be defeated
Though battered by a failure
That couldn't escape her thoughts,
The walls must be breached
She tried, oh she tried, she gave it her all
And when she had battled everything,
When she had endured enough,
When she could no longer accept the existence forced upon her,
The World Broke
and all was gone
The End had Come
And her finale was marked by suffering.
