Festivids Insta-recs!

Not even scratching the surface here. You need to check out the Festivids masterlist for yourself, because there are sooooo many fandoms and so many vids to watch.

Please note that not all vids have content notes/warnings, and some fandoms (e.g. Dead Like Me, Nikita) have violent content in the source material, so be extra careful if you aren't familiar with the canon.

ETA: Reveals are now up on the festivids masterlist, so I've edited to include vidders' names.

Here is just a small selection of the bounty:

  • (Chronicles of Narnia) The Greatest Day by Charmax

Beautifully made and edited, and epic, and heart-warming, and happy-making. If you made a box and said, "please put all the things you love about Narnia inside it," that would be this vid.

  • (Chronicles of Narnia) Never the Same by Dogstar

Another Narnia vid, but completely different from the first. This one is a much darker vid, highlighting the violent aspects of the story and what it does to the Pevensie children. There is so much going on here, and meta about the series that gets into the issue of children being given a mystical burden that requires them to fight (and grow up way too fast).

  • (Finding Nemo) Float On by Such Heights

Like pure distilled fun with an undercurrent of sweetness.

  • (Dead Like Me) There Is a Boy Who NEver Goes Out by Greensilver

Mason!!! ♥ Great, great character vid. Hard times and fucking up and having fun and fucking up more and falling asleep on your best friend's (best friends') floor.

  • (Life After People) End of the World by KRIM

I don't know how many people are familiar with this series, but the vidder's summary of "Post-apocalyptic porn" is pretty damn accurate. It's the end of the world, let's watch some buildings fall apart! Woo! Pay attention to the vid content notes, though, I had to watch with one eye shut because of the bits with bugs and they come up very quickly out of nowhere because of the pace of the vid.

  • (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) Who Needs Enemies by theanonsisters

Julian Bashir, spies, holograms and mindfucks, oh my. Looks a bit like I imagine taking LSD might feel like (only in a good way).

  • (Psych) Don't Walk Away by Franzeska

Ever wondered what Psych would be like if it were an 80's movie? Wonder no more! Shawn is afraid of being left behind, he still needs his Gus! Makes great use of the film tributes in the show.

  • There is also a Nikita vid that looks great over here: Threnody by bop_radar. Unfortunately I remembered partway through that I haven't seen all the episodes and was spoiling myself for plot. Oops. It looks great though, you should watch it if you are up to date on the series!
