Over the Moon...
I don't share much here. By that I mean that I don't really talk about dolls that I want, or dolls I dream of owning, etc. I tend to keep things like that locked up in my head...or I whine about them to Cheryl on Anime night. :P
It was last week when I was again moaning about my lust for an SD17 (Hikaru Genji this time) and the unlikeliness that one would ever come my way since I missed doing the Alain lottery when Cheryl pointed out that, "if I really wanted an SD17 I could have had one by now". And it hit me that she was totally right.
In a series of events that can only be described as serendipity, an Alain fullset popped up in the MP for a very good price and a good friend of mine PM'd me asking that if I ever wanted to sell Uphir she wanted him. So, after a weekend of selling and re-prioritizing, my dream doll...my Grail doll is now home with me.
I. AM. UTTERLY. IN. LOVE.
He has his idiosyncrasies, like the S-hook in his left hand that doesn't want to pull out of his forearm and I have to go digging with a chopstick to turn it. Or the near hernia I gave myself trying to put his head back on. It's only a near hernia since I got out the dremel and made the hole in the bottom of his head bigger. >_<
He's woefully under wardrobed at the moment - this is an SD13 Kio shirt I have him squeezed into. But I don't care...because he is just...omg! LOVE. @_@
Some notes on his faceup - which I think I may have hit an all new personal land speed record on today - I kept it simple and in the flavor of his default, especially with regards to his mouth. I love Alain's smile, which is weird for me given the grumpy nature of the rest of my gang.
Anyshit, please meet my newest boy, Matthew. I hope you will all like him because you are going to get very sick of seeing him. LOL.
