I look forward to Act 2 then! :)

That's fascinating! I didn't know (and still don't know) who I want to go for; I will confess that Fenris's first quest (Bait & Switch) really ticked me off because (1) I kicked it off not knowing it was a Fenris quest ("lyrium smuggling" doesn't sound anything like "IT REALLY IS AN ELF"), and unwittingly pissed off Aveline and Carver by asking the dodgy merchant for money to do the quest. (2) I was not expecting the waves and waves of people trying to kill me and was very ticked off that there was nothing I could do about the trap in the house; (3) and then Fenris tells me IT WAS A RUSE ALL ALONG.

But Fenris grew on me. I still feel awkward around his views, but he is MY PARTY now and I will NEVER give him back.

I'm not certain I will romance him because... his value system is very different from the one I've got going for this Hawke / my own views, and I disagree with him on many, many things. And yet I cannot bring myself to pursue a rivalry romance with him because I am not going to be THAT cruel!
And the worst part of it is that I'm playing a mage and my relationship with Fenris is STILL better than my relationship with my own fictional brother!

Isabela was the only LI so far that really sparked my interest, in that I could see the Hawke I have going really well with this woman. But sadly, Hawke player (me) wants to romance a guy LI... *laughs*

I didn't know it was about Fenris either, that was just a pleasant surprise for me. I was like, 'wait, what do you mean there's no--hello, you're hot!'

I don't think I've asked for money or paid someone off the whole game. If I'm asked for money, I'm usually like, 'tell me or else.

Well, I'm not playing as a mage, but his views haven't really been an issue. If anything, they seem tempered by the fact that I wooed him. But I see things mostly like Isabela and Varric. I don't really have a side, I just think everyone should be free to make their own choices, right or wrong. The game's already shown that there's good and bad to both templars and mages.

I'll probably try pursuing Isabela on my next playthrough. She's so much fun, and she has a lot in common with me in being utterly shameless.

For me it depends on the quest! If I know it's a runaway elf slave or some similar cause, I don't ask for money. I actually felt pretty bad when Fenris gave me all the coin he had at the end of the quest - and I felt even more guilty that there was no dialogue option to decline! (Not that you actually *get* any money in game, but it's the principle of the thing!) But if it's a shady merchant about lyrium *smuggling* - then what I do doesn't come for free, I'm the (someday) Champion, not a charity! /terrible person.

I'm playing as a mage, but even if I weren't - his views would be an issue, because it would matter to me (the player), regardless of what class I chose. :) True re the relative even-handedness, in Act 1 they already show there's definitely flaws on both sides of the mage/templar divide. Seriously can I just take a third option and evade destiny. Haha.

I don't have a viewpoint anything like any one character: probably am closest to Varric if anything, but still not a close match. I'm a little bit like certain parts of all characters - but nothing much like any of them. :)

... Somehow out of my entire party Fenris has the highest friendship with me though. I was very surprised because I didn't intend it, as I was mostly concerned with maximising Carver friendship until I took him off to the Deep Roads.
