The big two-one... and also the concert
So here I am, pretty much recovered from last night's dosage of alcohol. It was a tough night/morning but it could have been worse. Some buddies from work took me to a bar & grill down the street last night after I got off, and they bought me a few drinks for my 21st birthday. My fave was the "irish car bomb" I think. I don't remember how many drinks I had, but it was enough to get me drunker (it's probably "more drunk" but this sounds funnier) than I'd been in a couple years. Whatever tolerance I built up at UP is gone from lack of drinking, so I knew I was in for a rough night. Some of those guys want me to go drinking with them more often, and go bar hopping etc, but I'm not sure if I'm into that. It *will* be nice to just be able to go to the store and buy alcohol whenever I want though. Anyways, my friend Matt drove me home, which was awesome, but now my truck is stranded at home depot still. I might try to get him to pick me up today and take me to work, I think me and him have to work at around the same time. All in all it was a good birthday, I didn't want anything big and what I got was perfect.
In other news, deck the hall ball was awesome! I totally was stuck in traffic (along with like a million other people who were going to the show), and so I missed all of snow patrol and most of keane. Keane played my song when I wasn't there! I was bummed. But what I did get to see of keane was amazing. The shins were really good too, esp. during new slang. They work really good together as a band. As for the killers and franz ferdinand, I wasn't really sure what to expect. Like, I'd heard a few songs of theirs, but I didn't have any idea of what they'd be like live. They were awesome though, I think franz ferdinand deserves the grammy for "best live act", they totally jacked up the energy level of the place. Very good showmen too. Finally, modest mouse. I'd heard they were awesome live, and also heard they suck live... I was hoping for awesome that night, but they sucked. Pretty hard too. I was looking forward to them the most, and they let me down. I'm not gonna rant about them, but I will say that I'm gonna give them another chance if they play these parts again. They better not let me down again!
This week will be xmas shopping week for me. I'm just gonna sit and write down everything I'm gonna buy for everybody before I actually go shopping, and then try to get it done in one fell swoop. I'm still not sure what to get the folks though... they are always kinda tricky. They say they aren't, but oh yes, they are.
