It is a strange occurrence to awaken in a place entirely unfamiliar to the memory.  And it is even stranger when one finds that the memory does not even recognize one’s own self.  I am named Ledah.  Of that I am certain.  I would say it was comforting to have that much, at least, but in truth, I find a name to be of little consequence.

After a previous examination of my physical condition, I shall now note that I have suffered numerous blade wounds of little consequence to my torso as well as a stab wound in-between my shoulder blades of considerably greater severity.  Since the fresh blood flow ceased approximately 10 minutes ago, it seems most logical to assume that my body will recover on its own, without the aid of any medical intervention.  And on the subject of recovery, I should remark that I write this tentative journal in the hopes that arranging my thoughts in a logical and concise manner will catalyze the retrieval of my lost memories (I assume it is a complication that has occurred as a result of the damage inflicted upon my body).

Though I was aware of the presence of others from the moment I awakened, I deemed it wise not to move until I was certain my injuries were not life-threatening.  But as they appear to be largely superficial, it is the wisest course of action at the moment to speak with the locals and ascertain my current status and location.  I see several people walking by the path even as I write.  It is my hope they do not act with hostility towards a creature of a different species, as I am unable to stave them off in my weakened state.  Interesting, though, that they lack wings.
