That entire holiday was entirely unnecessary.  It does not even appear as if anyone has regained anything from it.  A considerable departure from the previous year's Halloween, as I recall.

It has been a year since that time.  I believe the few of us who remain have gained much over this period of time, and I do not make that statement in terms of ( Read more... )

At least someone agrees that it was entirely unnecessary.

. . . Wait. Sprite, Riviera, and Magus -- elaborate on those terms.

Hmph. Do you take me for a dictionary? Ask politely, or not at all. But briefly . . .

Sprite is the name for any mortal residing within my world, that is, those who are neither angels nor demons. There are no humans. Riviera is the home of the Sprites, as Asgard the home of the angels and Utgard the dominion of demons. It is colloquially known as the 'Promised Land'. As for Magus, they are those who act as the proxies of the gods until the gods may be resurrected.

You didn't expect everyone to know what you meant right from the beginning, did you? Well, it doesn't matter . . . Thanks. I guess.

Then the closest thing to a human being is the Sprite. But beyond that: really?

Not precisely. Sprites vary greatly in species from dwarves to dryads to undines.

Hm? A magical island that kidnaps people of different species from other dimensions and wipes them of their memories only to return them after playing games: really?

That's a pretty general term.

They both proved to be a lot to swallow at first! Yours especially with the mentions of angels and gods, but it's not like I'm outright saying that your story is a lie.

It is convenient. In addition to Sprites, there are also Arcs, a species that resembles winged humans. They reside only on a single island in Riviera.

Consider that it is equally strange to me that worlds can exist without the direct intervention of angels and gods.

I guess it is, given how much of a range it covers. An isolated species living on a single island? They must be a pretty small population to be able to manage like that.

. . . I can get that.

Well? Is your curiosity satisfied?

Not quite. You said you judged the Sprite under the orders of this Hector, so what does that make you?

That makes me a Grim Angel. A reaper of death summoned by the gods to drive back the demons at the cost of their lives.
