Doing something RPI doesn't make me do...write! (well compose)

Alright so things have been definitely amazing, strange, confusing and everything in between since I got back home. Biggest thing first that probably more than a few people have heard me ranting about is I'm getting a car YEEHAW!! Since mom told me about a month back that they would getting one for my brother and I to use to commute to work it's been on the tip of my tongue. Finally, I think we've (we being dad and I) really gotten seriously involved enough to where a purchase is right around the corner. My research and dad's phone skills have led us to a white '99 Acura Integra GS-R Coupe. The GS-R is the second highest model (with only the type R being higher and strictly a sports car) and has plenty of slick features including: sunroof, leather, power everything, CD player, 5 speed manual, 172 hp 1.8L VTEC, and of course an 8000 rpm redline :D All this plus a low 58,000 miles = a suggested price (online research) of $9,347. The guy we're buying it from has it for sale at $7,900 so it seems as if were getting a steal. Tomorrow morning at 730 (way too early) were going to visit the private seller in Tomball and get in touch with the car physically, not just emotionally. Just to make sure there's nothing wrong with it, he's letting us keep it for the day. We're gonna take it to a mechanic to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong with it and test every aspect of the car with scrutiny to see if it meets the Lamborn's expectations. From paper, it looks like a god and I will thoroughly enjoy my time with the car. Performance wise it dominates the street over cars priced several $1000's more. 2667 lbs with 172 hp and striking aerodynamics has it enjoying a 7.2 sec 0-60 time and .84 g's in the corners (quite impressive). This car can more than likely outrace my dad's 220hp Mazda6. I garauntee he will be driving it when possible lol. I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS CAR!!!!

Of course how is this all being paid for? After a looooong heated discussion with the entire family, Colin and I are paying all maintenance costs (gas, insurance, clutch, tires, oil etc) and we have to pay a little bit up front. I'm going to have to pay $250 up front and Colin will have to pay $500. I'm paying less because I'll only get to use it for the summer and he'll be using it for all of senior year. If we both have to go somewhere at the same time, no one has 'rights' over the car. We're just gonna have to work it out (not gonna be fun). My parents will be paying for the rest of it, quite fortunate for us.

Along with this heated discussion over the car, everything about the summer with income and expenses as well as college expenses came into play. After putting it all together I'll be needing $250 - Car, $215 - New Amp/DVD player, $100 - YMCA membership, $115 - Gas for 3 months, $330 - Insurance for 3 months, $113 - Camera repairs, $1000 - Soph fall semester spending money, about $300 - Cali and Sapphire and about $400 - various summer expenses. Assuming I'm going to get and use all these things, this comes up to at least $2808 that I need to make this summer...WOW O_o As of now I have made $367. While I can easily cut out the YMCA, reduce expenses here and there, not get the DVD player and possibly get lucky on insurance, I would rather have these things. There is definitely a long way to go...valet parking may not be enough.

As far as everyday life goes, I've definitely noticed how boring The Woodlands is with all the free time I've had recently. But, this really isn't much of a concern for me cuz I'll be keeping myself busy with friends, work, driving, working out, and possibly Clair :D Clair (now soph at SMU in Dallas) and I had somewhat of a little spark ignition last night with a bunch of friends for dinner and movies. I'm not gonna jinx it, but I've been hoping for this for a while (she is a FOX lol)

All the high school senior kids graduate on Thursday and it will be nuts after that. This could become a fantastic summer :D

Peace oot,
Jeff

P.S. Galveston on Sunday OOO BABY
