The Doctor jumped up as soon as his eyes opened; he could tell something was not right. "Strange, I didn't.." he said to himself as he began to look around. "Amy? Rory?" He called out, but soon he was faced with an open door and what appeared to be a man standing right outside of it ( ... )

Startled, Gwaine takes a few steps backwards away from the strangely dressed man who had just appeared in the room behind him. "You were not in there a moment ago."

He regards him suspiciously, "I regret I find myself unable to answer your questions. I awoke and found myself here, wherever here may be. We are not in Mercia, or Engered or any of the other citadels I have ever visited."

Gwaine paused for a second and glanced down the hallway, their conversation doesn't seem to have attracted any unwelcome attention.

"No," the Doctor seemed as if he needed to think about that, "no, I wasn't. Good observation." The Doctor listened closely to what the man had to say next. "Well now, that chances everything, doesn't it." So the man also just woke up here? But, he looked like he belonged here, strange..very strange indeed.

"Visit cities a lot, do you? But, have never been here." The Doctor stepped back inside the room. "Where did you wake up? The other bed," he pointed to the bed that he did not wake up on.

"Yes, I've visited a few. Find it wise to keep moving, people tend to get sick of me quickly."

Gwaine watched the other man curiously as he investigated the room. What did it matter where he woke up? Surely they should be taking advantage of their captors failure to post any guards

"Yes, that bed. Look, friend, I've no wish to seem rude but there is something passing strange about this place. Perhaps as we are unarmed and there appear to be no guards present now would be a good time to endeavour to make our escape?"
