Hocus Pocus
Hey everyone!
It's been almost a week since I've posted, and a lot has been up in that week!
I had the chance to finally see a Cirque Du Soleil show, and was quite curious given all I'd read about it on jezeroth's LJ. I have to say, the show was bloody magnificent. It was poetry in motion, and the sights, the sounds, the bodies flying, singing, and dancing were almost too much to take in at the same time. The fact that I got in for free with EXCELLENT seating was pretty damn awesome in my opinion, but if they're ever in town again, I'm sure that I probably would pay top dollar for seating.
Beyond that, I also found out that work was going to be sending me to Orlando, FL for a mostly-expenses-paid trip! As awesome as it sounds, it's a bit of a mixed blessing. The thing is, I've been chosen for the national training class for the month of August. My trip is going to be between August 9 and August 27, i.e the Monday RIGHT AFTER my wedding (on Friday). That, and about a week or so after I come back, Dragon*Con will be up! I'm hardly going to have a chance to unpack my bags, much less actually settle down D:
I could ask work to send me to Chicago the month before, which would really free up my schedule. That would also be great because I happen to know quite a lot of people in Chicago!
Part of me doesn't want to ask though, only for the fact that as shallow as it sounds...after being stuck in Ohio for 5+ years, being given the chance to lounge around on beaches during the middle of summer sounds really damn tempting.
I'm feeling terribly indecisive here. LJ buddies, what is your take on the situation? D:
