This story is long but way to good to insert a fake cut, so here goes:
Last week was a career fair at my school. Sophomores generally don't go and there isn't too much for a communications (tele/interpersonal) major to get. However I decided to check it out because MTV networks was going to be there. So I went and talked with their representative and gave her my resumee. This morning I got an email (which was addressed as a mass email, so to everyone who submitted a resumee) with all of the qualifications to be able to participate in the internship. I unfortunately didn't meet all of the qualifications, one being that I'm still a sophomore and this program is mainly for juniors/seniors. The email said to reply if you meet the requirements to set up a phone or personal interview. So I was going ot wait until tonight to email back so I could think of a good way to phrase everything.
Flash to later today.
I'm outside of the Study Abroad office, waiting my turn, when my phone rings, and I don't recognize the number. So I answer it and it's (you guessed it) the girl from MTV networks. She asks me how I am etc and if I would like to set up a phone interview. I mentioned that I got the email in between my classes and didn't have the chance to email back, and she said no worries. She also said that although the program is geared towards juniors and seniors they would definitely consider a sophomore who had potential. So she asked me my schedule and I now have an official phone interview on Monday at 11:30 AM.
I am so excited I could die. I want this internship so badly. And it's not just MTV or MTV siblings when you think about it, it's MTV networks. That includes Nick and all it's relatives (nick @ nite, noggin, the N), it's VH1 and its siblings, it's TV Land, it's CMT, it's Comedy Central and Spike TV. I mean WHOA! This is an incredible opportunity, so keep your fingers crossed for me, okay?
Annnnnnnnnnd it's now like 90% that I will be studying abroad Spring Junior Year. Tokyo here I come!
I am so happy today, it's ridiculous.
