ok. so i read article after article on the tsunami. wrote a five page research paper on it. donated money. you would think i had a pretty good idea that this tsunami was a natural disaster that took the lives of the asian citizens right out of their hands before they could even scream ( Read more... )

I have donated what money I brought in in paychecks already.I understand you're feelings completely. I just can't watch the news anymore. Just another sad story, and another life taken. Its wrong. It really is heartbreaking. I lovies u....hope all is well.

the other day my teacher read this article that the people left where the Tsunami hit said that they dont want help, and they dont want our money, like the navy or anyone has even gone out there yet. and people left there in a part of a jungle a helicopter flew over where they have been told is where people are and there were survivors and that they shot a bunch of arrows up at the helicopter.

maybe they've never seen one before. americans are not often known for their delicacy when it comes to enterring other countries...we oftentimes do not realize (1) how lucky we are and (2) how our interactions affect cultural and societal balances already in place in foreign countries. it is our duty to be patient and helpful when we are able. i do not fault indonesians for their unique perceptions of our attempts to aid them.
