Instinct : a natural or inherent aptitude, impulse, or capacity.

As adults I believe we spend way too much of our time complicating our own lives and then struggling so hard to simplify them again. It’s just that I’ve been thinking that our life cycle probably starts without a lot wisdom as infants and then we slowly loose a soulful perspective until we become elderly (if we are lucky) and then we realize that there were few things over the last 40 or 50 years that truly remain important in the end. These things that are important in the end, or the same things that were important in the beginning. All the difficulties that we have encountered or more accurately…created…are a result of not following our instincts. Throughout the day our anxiety, nervousness, and moments of discontent are a direct result of us not following our instincts. Truth is not a mystery.

this was sent in an email from good records and it's funny that i got it today because it describes what i've been thinking about.

"sometimes it seems that i don't have the skills to recollect the twists and turns of plot that turned us from lovers to friends. i'm thinking i should take that volume back up off the shelf and crack it's weary spine and read to help remind myself"
