Tue Jan 11, 2005 04:27 AM GMT

FORT HOOD, Texas (Reuters)- Charles Graner, accused ringleader in the Iraq prisoner abuse scandal, has been put up to trial. He be facing up to 17 and a half years in prison on charges that include mistreating detainees, dereliction of duty and assault. Naturally, he's pleaded not guilty and he be having a competant lawyer to boot. He be getting off for sure, I mean, here be what his lawyer had to say on the topic of piling naked prisoners into pyramids: "Don't cheerleaders all over America form pyramids six to eight times a year. Is that torture?" Aye, top notch.
