Dress rehearsal is over and done with and I'm home at 10:30pm. I can hardly believe it. Turns out we've done everything that needed to be done - the show went smoothly without any major hiccups and - gah! - that means that the premiere will be disastrous!!
OK ... breathe ...
Today I went to the supermarket and bought 16 cans of cream of mushroom soup and a dozen condoms.
I prayed the cashier would give me a curious look just so I could say: "Oh yeah, now we can party!"
Alas - the opportunity was wasted. Not so much as a raised eyebrow.
*sigh*
The soup and the condoms aren't for me though. It's customary for the director(s) to give the cast little presents after the opening that tie in with something in the play. I'm going to fashion little pink and blue bows out of left over ribbon and attach a wrapped condom to each can. That will be our tasteful present. We never claimed to be a sophisticated bunch.
