Poem # 3

What a world we live in
A place once unscathed,
  now befuddled by human hands

A people once untouched by ambition,
now soiled by vanity and personal gain.

Looking around me now,
  I feel extremely saddened

Saddened by the cruel realization,
that this is the world I live in.

*I wrote this poem two weeks ago.  I can say the theme of this poem is strictly derived from all the thing I see happening to our economy, and to our people (as in everyone from the United States).  I just felt that things in this country, are at a low.  I think that the country I call home is being really mauled.  The 'Mauling', in my opinion comes from lots of things.

I just hope that the overally happy moral of my country picks up.  I want it to be a happy place. The land where people smile, and everyone can make something of themselves.  This is the feeling I miss most.  I hope we can get back to that feeling once more as a nation.

That's what I'm hoping for.

and as usual, please forgive all typos.
