Writer’s Block is still here!…just not on the homepage

What happened to Writer’s Block? In our most recent news about Release 90, we announced that Writer’s Block, a long-running homepage feature that posed a new question every day, was going away. If you really want to clean up the homepage you'll remove the stuff you've just added or allow us to customize it. I don't care one fig about the ONTD communities nor do I care about the popular entries and top communities. I'd much rather just have the stuff relevant to my account on that page. And writer's block was just fine where it was at. this ( ... )

And if you've seen a lack of traffic, it likely has more to do with how you treat us and the explosion of memberships on other sites than it does whether or not the writer's block is on the front page.

I honestly don't have a problem if the reason for getting rid of Writer's Block was to make livejournal more profitable. I would prefer sponsors on the homepage to either ads on my page or having to pay.

That said, I wish livejournal would just admit this. No matter how people feel about the profit motive, I think everyone agrees that being open about it is at least less bad than being sneaky about it.
