The passage of the bills also unfairly affects foreign sites as well and could affect the free market on an international level. A foreign site selling goods that a copyright holder might find to be "infringing" even if it isn't, can have the site blocked from the U.S. and keep Google and other companies from providing funding into the site even if it isn't under U.S. jurisdiction. This could in turn create a monopoly situation where U.S. citizens have no choice but to buy marked up garbage from only approved sites in the U.S. and could bring down international commerce.
Not only that, but you can also tell your reps in your country that you don't want them to try anything similar because it's idiotic. This last part is very important because there are a lot of things that happen in the U.S. where our country is a symbol to the rest of the world as to what "freedom" is. If we go down this route, other countries will follow and abuse their people and power thinking it's "OK". Make sure you tell your leaders it's not.
