I don't check the ole LJ too often anymore, but judging from viewing the entries from my friends, many of you are still alive on here. Here's an update about myself:
Daniel and I finished the new
studio in the church and started recording in July. Strictly by word of mouth, we're booked solid through March, and we're about to start on our eighth project already. It's surreal to be recording again and to be doing it in such a wonderful space that we designed and built entirely with our own hands and minds. Many things we teamed up on, and some things we did individually. I'm happy with my individual tasks such as drawing the plans, doing the interior design, and designing and building pretty much all of the furniture (example:
my bed and
desk). I still have some more pieces to build, and the entire place will probably never be 100% complete inside and out, but it's close enough for now. Whenever I shoot some new photos of the whole place, I will post them.
Due to spending the past three years building the new studio, I haven't done as much photography other than shooting construction photos along the way. I'm looking forward to building my new darkroom and getting back into that.
I haven't replaced the
AMX with something equally as enjoyable, but I still think about it nearly every day. Driving fast or just cruising around listening to the engine was a great stress relief.
And even though it seems to be going down the shitter more and more every day, I still fall in love with New Orleans all over again in October. This is from the first cool night last October:
