The deal that has been the subject of concern around the country has been finalized as Live Nation, the concert promotion arm of Clear Channel Communications, purchased House of Blues Entertainment Inc. for $350 million in cash. House of Blues was the second-largest concert chain behind Live Nation, but now its promotion business and all 10 of its venues including the Decatur Street location will be owned and operated by Live Nation. At this point, what that means for local staff and future booking is uncertain.

Why should you care? Here's one reason. As if House of Blues wasn't bad enough. I already refuse to go there, so it won't effect me much, but I feel bad for people who do go to shows there and work there. I guess those $4 cans of High Life will now be $6. My life would probably be much happier if I'd quit reading nola.com or anything else news related.
