Describe a chance encounter that changed your life.

It's strange, because I had never really thought about it until Lucivar pointed it out one day to me. I've had many encounters by chance -- most of them by wandering through Kaeleer -- and they all changed my life. But the one that really changed me?

I answered a call.

*Hello?* "What are you doing here?"
"I-I heard you. Y-you wanted a friend."

Lucivar was in Terreille at the time, and he'd sent out a prayer on the Ebon-gray. A summons, if you will, and I'd answered him. It hadn't seemed that important at the time... little did we all know. He'd gone on to explain to me how the Winds and the Webs worked, and I'd told him how I'd wandered. At the time, so many like Lucivar had been sending out their own wishes, their own dreams, and I'd answered them all.

Just once, I'd like to serve a Queen I could respect, someone I could truly believe in. A strong Queen who wouldn't fear my strength. A queen I could also call a friend.

He'd told me about Pruul, and once I'd mentioned that I was from Chaillot, he became quite... prickly. He taught me how to escape from grown men, taught me how to ride the Winds properly, and then made me promise. He was worried about me, I knew, but I wanted to be his friend at the time. I wanted so many friends who wouldn't hurt me or look at me strangely. But, I promised... only I was careful with my choice of words.

"Will you promise not to go wandering?"
"I promise not to go wandering in Terreille."

It was enough for Lucivar, and I didn't see him again until I was seventeen and he was practically dead. But I'd kept my word. I never wandered in Terreille again. Instead, my curiosity got the best of me and I wandered in the other Realms -- in Hell, in Kaeleer. In Hell, I met Papa, who changed my life by not only teaching me, but also by adopting me and showing me the proper ways of Protocol for the Blood. In Kaeleer, I met Karla, Morghann, Gabrielle... I met the Weaver of Dreams and learned how to speak in a way that has been lost to the Blood for centuries. I met the kindred, who most thought were a myth. I learned, I grew, and I became Dreams Made Flesh. I was able to find the Blood who were not tainted, and my Court at Ebon Askavi was created.

If not for the call Lucivar had sent and I had answered, I might have wandered Terreille and been trapped in Dorothea's schemes more so than I already was... and worse? I might have never met my family in Hell, or my friends in Kaeleer.

I have promised never to reword things like that, though, since Daemon and Papa seemed quite snarly once they learned that I had.
