This is one of those episodes that seems really long and meandering, but in a good way. As it went on, I kept thinking, Oh! THIS is in this episode! And this, too!

Where did Mulder get all that fancy equipment? He must keep it wherever he keeps his spray paint.

IN HIS PANTS. (Sorry, I'm just so desperate for Mulder to come back that it's making me a little crazy.)

Mulder and Scully ride a bus!

I kind of love this.

And then, of course, he squats down and pulls her hand toward him to look at the bug.

And I definitely love this.

She tells Mulder: “Mulder, you’re the only one I trust.”

Apparently I love everything in this episode? Mulder and Scully talking about how they only trust each other is one of my favourite things ever.

Sadly, her trench coat has an ugly gold chain across the back.

I am making a horrified face.

He says they’re using him against himself. Now, though, that’s more difficult with Scully at his side. If she hadn’t been there to question the authenticity of the photo, he would’ve been down to Georgia in a heartbeat and off on the wild goose chase they wanted, instead of on the right path.

And that is why they are perfect together. Because SHE MAKES HIM A WHOLE PERSON.

Apparently I love everything in this episode?

There are approximately one million awesome things in this episode, so it's easy to see why. You should definitely put it on your "to watch" list when you make it through.

I'm trying to be better about this, because I think they improve things immeasurably.

You mean IF I make it through. Thinking about what I have to sit through to get to "Per Manum" is making me feel faint.

No no no, YOU CAN DO IT. I made it through, and I'm a delicate little flower when it comes to these things.

But "The Gift"! And "Badlaa"! And "Salvage"! Horrible, horrible "Salvage"!

I'll just try to focus on the fact that I will never, ever have to watch them again. And that soon, I can watch good episodes with pretty, pretty Mulder in them, gazing adoringly at Scully like always.

I'm not gonna lie, "The Gift" is rough. But I do want you to report on the level of Mulder's robot-itude in that one, to see how it fits with my theory, because I'm too afraid to watch any of it ever again. Even for scholarly purposes.

FINE, I will pay special attention to Mulder. IF I HAVE TO. But I am fast-forwarding through the vomit scenes (or at least muting and covering my eyes).
