I'm pretty good! Been struggling a bit with artwork lately, but I try to draw every day regardless!

I've been learning more Japanese (slowly) and am also helping a Japanese friend (whom I met through the GtK fandom) with her English at the same time :> She was contacted by the manager of her favorite English actor (Jansen Atwood), asking her if she would like to translate and help his manager to show Jansen Atwood himself around Japan in the near future! She's so excited but frustrated at the same time because her English isn't perfect. She's going to buy a microphone so I can speak with her on Skype so she can practice before Jansen comes to Japan :> She's so adorable, btw! she calls me her 'lil sister' and I call her 'oneesan' <3 I love my Japanese friends, they are all so friendly and cute \(*^∀^*)/

Ahahaha, I'm the go-to? <3 Do you get much interest in fkmt titles lately? I know a few of us buy from you, but wondering if others are jumping on the boat :> And I'm more of the-- 'Gin to Kin fujoshi' if anything! I'm in my own little corner as a hardcore English fan, but am trying to sucker more people into the fine old man and pony-tail financing. <3 The gtk artist circle is really compact, I know most of them by name now (the ones that post at pipa and pixiv, at least!) and hope to contribute with Doujinshi of my own in the future! (I finally started fiddling with my copy of Manga Studio, and really like it! )

....The only biting problem with that is that I can't for the life of me find a Self Publishing English distributor that will print R-18 BL material. It's been discouraging, since I am picky about the artwork I put out and want to know the exact paper dimensions I need to use from the publisher before I start anything :/ Siiiigh. It's for things like these that I wish the USA had Publishers like Japan does...

Aaaanyways! Price is reasonable :> sent the money already (since I know you like it beforehand )<3 I love supporting my artwork friends overseas, and being able to buy their doujinshis/anthologies makes me happy <33

thanks again!

A HaruComi Update... the_little_nook March 18 2009, 03:30:29 UTC
Howdy, and sorry it took me a little bit to get back to you--these updates are taking longer than originally thought. *sweatdrops and keeps typing* And I always appreciate the money before the event because I can ship things easily afterward...like your new anthology! Teketo hit another home run as far as I'm concerned and this Sawada collection is incredibly nice.

Actually, the numbers of people interested in FKMT is slowly increasing, based on the queries I've been getting. I've got two predictions for this year:

1. That a major American distributor will pick up the FKMT anime series en masse and we'll see a minor explosion in the English-speaking anime fandom. Brand-new fans will suddenly start popping up on message boards saying "OMG Kaiji is the coolest character EVAH!" and lots of squeeing will be involved.

2. One of the shounen-based weeklies will catch the gambling craze and debut their own FKMT-based spinoff. "All In!" featues Kenji, a typical third-year high school student who dreams about playing in the World Series of Poker! His female sidekick Mikan has bosoms popping out everywhere and not only do they have to try and perfect their gambling skills as minors, but they meet lots of darkly-evil-looking-but-good-natured yakuza and poker players based on bad American stereotypes.

It'll die a short death after three months and thankfully, NO ONE WILL MIND.

It's a real bummer that you can't find a printer State-side, and I would LOVE to see your work in the anthologies! I'll be dropping your package off at the post office later today and will leave you a little note after I've done so...thanks again and catch you soon!

Eee, thank god you were able to get a copy! I know the japanese fkmt community is still going strong, and with new quality Anthologies coming out (I want that SaKai Antho eventually too, ffff), I was worried for a second. Sawada is one of the more interesting minor characters in Ten, which earned him enough fans to make an anthology in the first place! (that, and fkmt 'fine old men' characters have captured my heart indefinably <3)

That's also wonderful to hear that more people are getting into fkmt! Its aesthetics are a little more, uh, different, and I have seen more than not, potential English Fans being put-off by the bizarre style. If it does catch hold in America, I see fans who are a bit more mature and have a particular sense of humor adding to the fandom. This is def not a 'kawaii waii waii neko-desu' fandom, so I don't think it will be insanley popular, but popular none the less :> Now all I need to do is find a group willing to translate Gin to Kin...

great to hear back from you btw! I figured you were swamped so the wait was expected *pats*

A Little Update.... the_little_nook March 25 2009, 03:40:12 UTC
Heya, and sorry you haven't heard from me in a bit--these HaruComi and Comic City orders are taking a bit longer to process than I thought. *acks* I am totally with you on the "Fine Old Men" in FKMT, and you never know about popularity...

It's been fascinating watching the FKMT and Hetalia communities develop, because of the differences...Hetalia is kawaii all the way and the circles who are taking artistic chances are becoming the real standouts, while FKMT is--well, FKMT and wildly creative. I'd agree that people can get turned off of FKMT's bizarreness, but you never know--after looking at nothing but cute cute cute for a while maybe others will give it a second chance.

Although I'm not sure if the cuteness will extend the other way--I haven't seen a huge rush of cat-eared Washizus, have you? :)

And now for a little update...I'd been working hard on finishing the HaruComi orders and shipped a bunch of packages last Thursday, with the rest to go out on Friday, which is my normal day off...

...and because of this, I completely forgot that Friday was a national holiday, which meant that the post office was closed. :(

This means that a big log of backorders developed and I haven't shipped your anthology yet--that kind of lengthy delay really bothers me. I feel very bad about this mistake and to make up for it I've got a few options for you:

1. I can refund you the original $9 airmail shipping fee, or
2. You can choose 1 other title I've got offered for sale--anything $20 or less would be eligible, and the shipping for this item would be free; I’d be willing to extend the offer through the next two month, or
3. I can pick up a brand-new "standard" title at May’s Super Comic City of your choosing, also with free shipping; I’d ship your current order out now and handle the extra title in May.

Again I am VERY sorry about this mistake, and want to do what I can to rectify the issue. Thanks for being so patient and I'm looking forward to hearing what you decide! *waves*

it's no problem! You run a demanding 'business' here, so I know it happens ^q^ Just getting over excited about when my Anthology does arrive, though!

That you mention it, I have been----eyeing (with lust) those older Muddy Pool titles(especially 'Monarch') that I don't have for a good while now. Not only is Tsuta-san an amazing artist, but she has been such a nice friend as well! She helped me with some Doujinshi page sizing issues(she even gave me her personal templates, aaaa),she also urges me to draw with her and her friends a lot. They're all very strange, but cute <3

but sadly, all of the titles I want are over 20 bucks, LOL I'll have to think of something else that I want orz
