[How convienent! Splendid will be leaving the post office right about now.

With blood gushing from what remains of his arms......elbow-stumps for everybody!]

[Garnet looks up just in time to see Splendid stumble out of the post office. She muffles a cry with her hands: his is the worst injury she has seen all day.] Oh no...hold on!!!

[She rushes to Splendid, the Curaga that will keep him from completely exsanguinating racing ahead of her in a brilliant arc. She reaches him just after the spell washes him in healing light. Garnet reaches out to him, hand resting over his collar bone. This gesture steadies her as much as it steadies him. She casts Regen on him as a precaution, knowing he'll be woozy from blood loss.] What did you reclaim?...What could have come at such a cost?

[He can't answer yet- shock has gotten to him, so Splendid just looks down at her with blank and cloudy eyes. She might need to slap him.]

[She won't slap him just yet... But she will give him a good shake. He needs to get a hold of himself.] Splendid, Splendid, look at me. Fight it!

[He blinks and comes back to himself a little, raising a hand to run it through his hair....only he doesn't have any hands, just stumps.]

....Miss Dagger?

[Garnet smiles at him, nodding her head. Her hand rises to just under his jawline. She wants to wrap her arms around him, offer him comfort, but this is the best she can do.] Stay with me. You're going to be okay.

[At those words he smiles hugely, the expression horribly out of place. He waves his stumps excitedly; Splendid doesn't even appear to notice them, or Garnet's missing arm.]

Of course I'm okay, miss Dagger! I can fly again! I can! Watch me- watch me!

[True to his word, Splendid jumps into the air and...hovers there with ease, looking as excited as a little kid.]

[Garnet stumbles back when Splendid suddenly leaps into the air. With her balance severely off, she falls onto her backside and stares up at Splendid incredulously.]

A-amazing!

[He's so happy and blind to the general horrific nature of this situation that it's honestly pathetic. Splendid flies up a little higher and does a somersault in the air before landing]

See- see! I'm becoming super again! Just like everyone s-

[wait]

-oh, you fell down.

[offers stump uselessly]

Oh, amputee humor.

[Garnet watches Splendid drift gracefully in the air, feeling great happiness that Splendid can find joy amongst such misery. It's a very welcome distraction from the present situation.

And when he reaches out to give her a hand, and she instinctively reaches with her arm that is no longer there...well, she can't quite help it. Garnet bursts out laughing.] Oh, do forgive me! [She says when she catches her breath.] It's just..well, look at us!

Leaves you in stitches!

[smiles, completely not bothered by the lack of limbs on both of their parts]

I know someone from home who's like I am now, only all the time! His name's Handy.

[He gets on his knees and leans forward with his stumps]

[Follows Splendid's lead and settles down on the floor, choosing to lay on her back, regardless of how hard the pavement is. A gentle smile curves her lips, and once more she breaks into a fit of giggles] Oh, that is terribly ironic.

[She doesn't chew so much as she chokes. Garnet turns her head until her cheek lies parallel to the ground, expression the definition of perplexion,] But how does he?...

...I don't know! Never really thought about it....but he always seems to get the job done when you aren't looking.

[She nods as if that made perfect sense and hasn't left her feeling mystified and curious.]

I see. Well, I am happy to hear that he is a successful carpenter.
