[Some would call it an act of unflinching selflessness, others, one of great stupidity. Opinion cannot reverse what she has done. Garnet has gone and exchanged her arm (and a great deal of her hair) for her white magic. Unlike others who have been butchered unwittingly, Garnet has knowingly made the sacrifice to regain her healing abilities after ( Read more... )

[Oh what is this.]

What happened?

[Turns at the sound of a familiar voice.] ...Pamela?
[Sighs.] Someone I really care about was dying, so I gave up my arm and my hair for my white magic.

[Nods. She's regained her ghost body, so she seems to fade in and out of transparency at times, along with the floating.]

Someone you care about...? That's terrible- why would you have to give up an arm?

[Reacts with wide-eyed astonishment when she sees how Pamela fades in and out of visibility. She must have gone to see the Postman...But what did she trade? From the sounds of it, she isn't even aware of the gruesome "processing fee".]

Because the Postman took his hand when he reclaimed his tail. He was bleeding very badly - so I turned in some box tops for my white magic. He took my arm in addition... [Reaches up to feel what is left of her locks.] As well as my hair.

I didn't know they took things like that...I still have all my arms and legs!

[Though she forgot everything that happened from the summer break Flay had her try to scare Vayne and the others, to the promise Vayne made to look for a way for her to leave the school.

Which...would be from Vayne's freshmen year to his junior year.]

[Garnet has yet to encounter anyone who didn't pay in body parts, so she's baffled by the fact that Pamela is missing nothing.] Are you certain that nothing else is missing, Pamela?

Well, I guess my memories feel a bit funny...

[No way. Garnet inspects her own memories instinctively, making sure that nothing is missing or out of place. Somehow, what has happened to Pamela seems worse than losing a limb. Their memories of home are the only proof that Mayfield is a prison.] Well, in what way do they feel funny? Are they altered or missing?...

Are there any others here from your world? Perhaps they could tell you what you've forgotten.

[Well, there goes that idea.] ...Don't worry. You'll get them back somehow.

[Even if there was, Flay would be the only person she could name off the top of her head, since he's flunked enough times to where even Pamela was surprised that he was a senior.]

But how do I get back what I don't know I lost?

[This is a question Garnet isn't sure she has an answer to.] Well...the mind is a mysterious thing. Perhaps they will come back naturally, in time. [But what about her arm? Would that miraculously reappear too? asdghjdsgkkds -] Hey...it's been a long day. How about we go home? [She says this with a warm smile, but inwardly, she isn't really looking forward to it. With one "daughter" missing an arm, and the other one turned into an amnesiatic ghost...this should be fun to explain to Ukraine.]

[AMNESIC GHOSTS ARE FUN THOUGH even if they sometimes trigger sidequests to find out how they died.]

Do you think so?

Oh! Uhmm...alright, let's go back.
