Ugh

So this summer pretty much sucks. When I got up here and wanted to go home, I should have. The two things i was looking forward to have, and are probably not going to happen. I wanted to actually get to take my road trip to see friends. Oh wait, car destroyed not happening. Going down to Boston to see the x-files movie (which i had wanted to go there to see in imax if it was going to be shown). I could drive down there and actually shock, see human beings,

however lets look at the situation:
I asked for two days off from work. When I agreed to this imbecilic going on salary at 50hrs a week thing so they dont have to pay me over time, (which btw i think you can only do if you are a manager, ps, im not one) i was told i would get 2 days off a week, I also asked that when i have to open the restraunt at 6am, can I please not close the night before. Apparently two days off is to much of a challenge. So when i ask I could be able to managed it, so i begrudingly agree.
Then I start to think about it. I'd be able to meet people friday night, watch the movie then either a) drive back to boothbay which in the middle of the night should be about 3.5 hrs so that the only other friend i have in this fucking place can get to work at 9am. b)I drive to Boston alone, in a car i despise driving i might add, spend the night then drive back first thing in the morning because i have to be at work in the afternoon, and with traffic on a saturday morning who knows how long it will take.
I might add that my last day off was this past monday and my next on will be the 25th. So after 10 days of the boothbay lobster wharf i could very well be tired (and bitter and sucidal) enough to drive the car that hopefully i will have back (if not id have to drive my brother's truck which is not safe to drive that far i dont think so the whole point of this would be moot unless i rented a car) off the road and into a ditch.
Considering that i can see this movie only having to drive an hour I'm not sure that the bitterness that a drive in traffic down to boston to see friends for a few hours makes it even remotely worth it.
If the consulate of Boston actually decided to respond to my two emails (one in french one in english), or to actually accept phone calls about visas, letting me know if i could get my visa in Boston then driving down there might have logic.

but as it is the idea of working for 10 days, driving to boston, staying a few hours, driving back, working to close, waking up and opening at 6am (i will be doing the whole closing then opening at 6am thing for the second week in a row) and then prolly working for another 5 days or so. Sounds about as apealing as going swimming in the freezing lobster tank where the 4lb lobsters have gotten rid of their bands.

If anyone has any thoughts please feel free to share.
Im off to read and go to bed before my closing and opening extravaganza starts again.

friends, work, x-files, angry, boothbay
