Life's been good'n'busy these days. I can't believe that it's already spring and that we had such beautiful weather this past week. Ben and I went to brunch at Anna and Taryn's on Saturday and we ate outside, lounging in T-shirts and rolled-up pants!

Will, the Earlhamite who'll be taking my position in the lab, came to Boston and stayed with Ben and me for a few days and visited the lab. It was great to get to know him a bit, and it makes me sad that our time won't overlap more!

I ran the New Bedford Half-Marathon yesterday. I ran almost 3 minutes slower than I ran the Wilmington half in the fall, but I also started a lot slower (didn't know how my sore foot would do after cross-training for a week), there were more hills, AND for about 3-4 miles we were running straight into the wind. The day was pretty much as perfect as you can get for a race, I had wonderful company before, during, and after the race itself, I felt strong and had only minor stomach issues, and I ended up getting in somewhere between 17-18 miles total. FABULOUS!

The long runs I've been doing have been great, and they're pretty much the bread and butter of my training. I'm doing sooooome faster stuff, but nothing longer than 8-9 during the weeks, and I'm only running 4-5 days a week. I feel great and have no desire whatsoever to run more--as long as I can FINISH the marathon, it's good enough for me. Yoga continues to bring tremendous joy and satisfaction to my days and I have no plans to give it up any time soon. :)

I'm starting to look for housing in Athens (!!!!), and it's definitely a relief that it's so much less expensive than here in Boston. If Ben and I play our cards right, we could be looking at a rent bill that's half of what we're paying now. I'm really excited about starting a new chapter in my life, and, surprisingly to me, also sad to be at the initial stages of wrapping things up here in Boston. As rough as those first few months were, I've really been loving it here and am already preparing myself for the pain of leaving behind this experience. I've met so many great people, have had the chance to build established relationships, explore, challenge myself....the weirdest thing now is that most of the running club's recruitment for races/relays is for events that will be happening once I'm gone. Sadsadsad, especially now that people are actually inviting me to join their teams!

Discovery: Market Basket is even more ridiculous to experience on Sunday evening than it is late Saturday morning. I'll keep that in mind for future trips.
