According to the little post monitor thingy, I haven't posted in 15 weeks. Huh... Okay.
Working in a law office is usually boring. The monotony is palpable. It tastes like stale crackers and flat soda. (That was the best metaphor ever.) Sometimes things get shaken up a little. We had an evacuation drill yesterday! (that I missed)
The opportunity for something funny to happen just isn't there. We don't do a lot of moving around, so no slapstick. And lawyers don't really know any good jokes. But sometimes...sometimes you get something so good it keeps you going for weeks.
Some background: there is a personal injury firm on the floor. Personal injury is a branch of the law that people use most often. It's when Person A sues Person/Company B for an injury that they received due to some negligence on the part of Person /Company B. At lot of these suits are frivolous, but people end up walking away with a little money. Some of them are not frivolous and the person involved was injured seriously.
One of my cousin works for this firm. He processes documentation of various kinds. Doctor's assessments, accident reports, medical reports, x-ray films and pictures. Oh my goodness. Pictures. Some are pretty gruesome and not for the faint of heart. (read: eviscera) Some are not so bad. A few bruises and scrapes.
This particular set of pictures came from an elderly woman who was attacked by a dog. She took the pictures and dropped off the film so the attorneys could process the ones they wanted. (Enlarge them, make multiple copies, etc.) She was hurt pretty badly and took pictures of the injuries, mostly on her legs and hands. Now, I was all pouty and sad for her. But my cousin wasn't interested in showing me those pictures. He wanted to show me the pictures from the end of the roll of film.
I am going to assume that she ran out of hurts to take pictures of and that the person taking the pictures for her was a good friend. A very, very, good friend.
EEEEEWWWW is right. Thankfully, they were only just suggestive and not nekkid granny.
Welcome to a day at the office with me. Glad you could join in the festivities.
