In truth, I made two gallons of wine and a pie. The pie is long gone, and boy was it good. The wine is still bubbling away on my counter.

It has been awhile since I've done anything that truly feels herbal. I made some more shampoo bars with help from my little one two weeks ago. I keep thinking that I need to get out into my garden, but I haven't done it yet. I pulled a wheel barrow full of thistles about a week ago or so. New ones have taken their places. My biggest goal for my garden this year is to map it out and to begin planning what I want to plant in the fall and next spring. I want my garden to be full, every inch planted, but we're coming onto the drought part of the summer. Does it make sense to plant a lot just before the heat and dry weather set in?

I ought to make some more dog herb mix, some more tooth powder, some more mouth tonic, some more deodorant powder. I ought to send out an email to see if anyone has an abundance of any fruits they'd like to trade for a couple of hours of gardening help so I can begin to restock some of my pantry shelves. I ought to get a batch of soap going -- I'm nearly out of the base soap I use for shampoo and body bars. For that matter, I ought to get a second batch going so that I don't have to buy laundry soap any longer.

Somehow, I haven't been finding time for the herbal tasks that I love doing. I'm thinking that it may just be time for me to re-evaluate the projects and places I've been using my energy. Hmmm.
