[2010] The Contest Week (June 6th - June 13th): Info & Sign Up

As most of you probably already know, this year's LaviYu Summer Fest is going to start with a contest week. It's still a month away, but we decided we should let you all know as much as possible already, so the things would run more smoothly, just in case. So here we go~
THE CONTEST.
On July 6th, a contest post will be posted on this account (and linked to several other places, of course). On it, there will be two bunches of selected D.Gray-Man manga panels, one for each of the two categories of the contest, colouring or editing (look below for details on the categories). To participate, you will simply need to pick 1-2 panels (both can be from the same category, or one from each, or only one in all) and work with them according to the given task! You will have exactly one week for it (but if you finish sooner, you're free to post it). Technical details will be provided in that post as well (such as the fact that you will be free to post your finished entries on any sites you wish, just in order to participate in the contest itself you'll need to comment with it on the contest post).
Now, this event was primarily meant as a mean to have more coloured LaviYu panels floating around the Internet, as well as some nice amusement, but we decided it would be more fun for both you guys and us if this was a contest and you could actually win something. Extra motivation and all that. =P
So, the entries will be ranked by judges who don't participate in the contest (we could still use at least one judge who's good with digital art, so if you know stuff about graphics but for some reason aren't participating in the contest, we would be most glad if you joined us, contact Morphine Dementia about it <3), on several different basis - like colour choice and skill for colouring, or originality and hilariousness for editing. The two winners, in other words, the makers of the top-scored entries of each category, will have a fanfiction written for them by mugen_edamame (colouring category) or tossino (editing category) according to the request they make (it doesn't even have to be LaviYu, but I assume that's what most of us would choose anyway x'D(though each writer might have certain little things they don't agree to write, but I encourage the winners to be creative and I'm sure if there's a compromise needed it will be great)).
THE CATEGORIES.
Category I: Colouring [example]. No need to say what that means, right? You pick a panel to colour from the given bunch, and you colour it. It is up to you whether you prefer to keep it to minimalistic style or to add a bunch of effects, though remember that you only have a week for it! We will pay the most attention to how awesome it looks, but still this task requires a bit of at least minimum specialized skills, and that's why we have the second category.
Category II: Editing [example1 / example2]. As you can see from the examples, this is about editing the text in the speechbubbles! And yes, that's it. You don't need to display any graphics skills here, you can do it in MS Paint or whatever, what matters here is how funny can it be! (Of course, it's easier to define funny when it's readable, so try to avoid the completely tiny fonts). Let the crack spill! ...er. Something like that.
SIGN UP.
Since it would do us good to know how many people would like to participate, we are holding this as a sign up post! Keep in mind that you can participate even if you haven't signed up beforehand (like, here), also if something unexpected comes up in life you might withdraw with no trouble. This is simply for us to predict the measurements of this event. For example, if there's not many people interested, the limit of two entries per person might be raised up to three, and so on.
So, if you're quite sure you will be able to give the fandom some time on June 6th-13th, please comment saying so here, and we will have some time to make necessary changes if it turns out they're needed. Also, feel free to ask any questions as we have been proven to more or less suck in clearing things out from the first go. <3
