[2011] The LaviYu Fest Planning
Greetings, LaviYu fans!
That time of year is closing in again, so it is time to start thinking about preparing.
As we are all probably aware, both us and D.Gray-Man fandom in general has seen better days. Long hiatuses, the manga becoming monthly, Kanda getting put on the bus - a few people who contacted me went as far as to state that DGM fandom is slowly dying, even though it still remains fairly popular at some places. But let's not dwell too much on these depressive matters; there's still plenty of fans who continue being such, and of course there's still our lovely LaviYu fandom floating high in this time of world-wide despair.
However, considering all this - and the fact that one of your Fest's head mods entered uni and time is becoming scarce - we've decided that we should once again do a more focused version of the Fest, that is, celebrate on the LaviYu Day, July 8th. Like usually, it would be the day of mass-submitting of anything you might be making regarding the pairing - fiction, fanart, cosplay, graphics, buttons, paper dolls, underwear, anything - plus a small contest, if people are interested.
Now, since last year the contest was related to graphics and generally visual stuff, this year we're considering a 100-word drabble challenge, where contestants claim 1-3 themes out of the LaviYu 100 Themes List, and write a 100 words for each of them. The prize for the winner(s) would likely be either a fanart or graphics. If that sounds interesting to you, please let us know if you'd like to participate, or draw the prize, whatever. :'D
So, that's about it really - we're welcoming any suggestions, ideas and feedback, and we hope to see all of you lovely people again this year. <3
