PARTY OR BE GANGHOLMED.

May 19, 2005 18:00

Due to the nature of this coming Saturday's party,
I quoth the skald. (They're like Viking Bards, only they write poetry more than sing.) The invitation is as follows.

On this Saturday, two nights before fullest moon,
I will host a gathering.
It is time for a revival of old things, of remakings and
unbridled companionship. Too often we lack the space
in life for those we love, but lands deeded across the
territories of our hearts are permenantly ceded:
Through the divides of time I love you still.
The divides themselves affront and stoke passion!
No longer shall a place be saved for you only
in the Kingdom of my heart. I shall open the doors of this
house in hopes that you will find a truer place there,
as well. Quibbles settled quickly with
a quick arm and a softened blade, let it be
a night of mirth, drink, and merriment for all.

SO, it's party time. Viking party time. All are welcome, everyone, whoever, all.
Guidelines you should know about:

- Saturday night, from 5pm on, roughly.
- You can bring whatever you want. I encourage you to. We will have some drinks here, and if you wanted to bring a couple bucks to help share the load, that'd be kickass, but I'm no mood for forcing anyone to pay for entry. (Extra Items that would be nice to bring: Food, drink, alcho, green, games, movies, CD of music you like, and if you have any, PVC+Padding Boffer weapons.)
- There will be some drinking going on. But since we're going for a tolerant and carefree and rabble rabble atmosphere, that shouldn't keep you from coming if you don't want to or can't.
- If you have beef with someone, or would like to, you are encouraged to challenge them to 'Gangholm'. We have padded boffer weapons and a ring outside. It's light contact, and you'll at worst come out with a bruise. Loser concedes whatever point the argument was on, winner takes a shot of something. (These are tenative rules).
- There's a bunch of room for people to sleep, if you'd like to stay. I'm sure we can find room for everyone who wants to.

You can RSVP by commenting here, or, comment here by commmenting here.
The address:

17 High Street, Newburyport.
Right on high street, on the Newburyport/newbury border. Lots of signs in the front yard, you can't miss it. If you want to park I suggest you do it somewhere down Marlboro street. (it's right across the street.)

My number is 978-270-8893 if you want to call for questions, or rsvp personally.

I'm going to repost this entry on friday and saturday so hopefully nobody'll miss it who would have seen it otherwise.

(NOTE: I AM NOT IN NEWBURYPORT CURRENTLY. I AM IN BOSTON.)
