Perhaps why the vast majority carry only tiny dreams anymore
is because for the vast majority
those are the only ones attainable.
Why dream big when only a lucky few achieve big dreams.
Don't we all dream of glory?
But how many actually achieve it and how many never do,
despite their best efforts?
How many are destined for oblivion and am I among them?
Even if I do attain the heights,
when I go, the glory stops there to fade.
Oblivion is never a question of if, only of how long.
When I die only a few will remember, many will forget,
and even more will say, "Never heard of him."
We all seek to stave off oblivion with our pyramids,
our bibles and our towers to the sky,
but oblivion always wins in the end.
And the tiny dreams are the only ones that come true.
